Taking the Day Off
Wednesday, May 21, 2008
I am officially taking the day off today. It feels fantastic since graduate school is pretty much a long check list of things to do and places to be until its over with not much regular down time. The voice in my head constantly tells me "there is always something you could be doing, Aimee." I hate you voice, so today I am defying you and not doing anything except what I want to do. This means still being in my pajamas until 10:25am. Lovely.
I've spent the morning watching TED videos in bed that are like videos you use to watch in elementary school on various educational topics only on crack. Amy blogged about this site a while back and I had never seen it. Now I love it. I watched 2 this morning. One about The Science of Love by Helen Fisher sent to me by a classmate which talks all about our brain, romantic love and attachment. Yes, please. The second was by the creator of Lost J.J. Abrams. He is totally passionate and I would love to sit hang out with him. I love listening to people like them who are completely passionate about what they do. If you have a few minutes or you are at your computer at work I would suggest taking a listen and have it playing in the background while you work. There is a bunch of fun information.
Unfortunately, we don't get any more information on the mystery of Lost. We'll just have to wait one more week to find out how the season ends. Wasn't last week's episode so fun?! I loved every second. They were such liars up there being interviewed about what happened. Why do 5 adults consent to lying like that? What is the big secret? It is killing me.
Now back to my day off...

I am so gonna have to check those two out. I love Ted. Glad you are enjoying your day off. And yes, Lost has been fantastic this season. And I have been enjoying every confusing minute.
Hey Aimee, Isn't there something you should be doing?
I am so J Aimee!!! I went to Claude's class with the full intention of leaving after it, but Kaylene guilted me into coming to Don's class. Damn her. Hope you have a great day off!
Amy, thanks for the tip on the website.
Meghan, you are mean, mean, mean!
Sarah, you should never let Kaylene talk you into anything.
